Help Me Finish School

Donation protected
My name is Pahnette Chheang and I am 22 years old. This past May I graduated from The Master’s University with an undergrad degree in Elementary Education, which is quite unusual because I am a Cambodian woman. I was born and raised in Cambodia in an orphanage with 29 other Cambodian kids run by an organization called Asian Hope. Through them, I was given the opportunity to go to school, graduate, and complete my education in America – all from a biblically based point of view. The reason why this is unusual is because Cambodia is a developing country that is lacking in their academics, therefore, an enumerable amount of students drop out of school if they are not able to afford public schools. Upon dropping out, they would work and help their families run businesses just to survive. I would have been one of those kids if it weren’t for God’s sovereign hand in my life in placing me in an unconventional family and providing me with one of the best educations in the country. I believe that his plan is for me to minister in the academic field and has open many doors to do so. One of the ways that God has open doors in education for me was to give me a full ride scholarship for the credential program through The Master’s University. This is a miracle because I do not stand out academically compared to the other students in my class. I worked hard and did the best that I could to graduate with my undergrad. Apart from a full scholarship, I found a house to live in and a generous donor to cover rent for the whole year. However, this does not meet all of my needs; as an international student, I need to have my student visa reissued and in order to do so, I need all of my financial needs to be met. I am lacking living expenses and this includes: food, transportation, health insurance, and cost of books, totally to about $9,000 for the ten months that I will be in the states completing my degree. What a California credential will do for me is that it will open doors and create opportunities to teach in any school that is accredited in Cambodia – allowing me to reach more students in the country. My goal is to be able to provide quality education to as many students as possible in Cambodia and to give kids a chance to achieve their dreams academically and to help their countries financially. I believe education is the foundation to rebuilding a broken country because it opens doors and gives students access to work towards any goal that they want for their lives. This will cause a domino effect of success by increasing the value of education and giving students the opportunity to go to school when they did not have the option to do so before. If you could be praying for God to reveal what the next year of my life will look like, I would be most thankful! If you would like to donate to the $9,000 that is required in order for me to be able to stay and complete my education degree, please donate as much as you can because every amount counts towards me completing my degree! Thank you so much!
