Kira and I met while I was in recovery from opioid addiction. Two relapses and two stints in a VA hospital at an in-patient rehabilitation program...She has really stuck it out and supported my recovery. I just hit my two year mark on Memorial Day. Last October I proposed at the top of the Grand Canyon after hiking the 26 miles Rim to Rim. It was the greatest moment in my life when she agreed to put up with me forever. October 7th, a year to the day I proposed, we are getting married. We are both working too much to go on a crazy honeymoon so we decided to take a small mini-moon up at the Finger Lakes. I'm going back to school to finish my degree and she is slaving away to work off the indentured servitude that are student loans. I am hoping to give Kira a honeymoon she deserves because I don't deserve her. This woman has been there for me through so much. She would drive 8 hours to come visit me at the VA Hospital and bring cake and baked goods for me and the other veterans at the hospital. She orchestrated a Thanksgiving feast through her friends and family for us while I was there...This isn't for me or even for us. This is for her.We just want a week in a cabin up in NY. We need, like $2,000 for the rental of the cabin, the security deposit, and gas.
