My name is Jayson Terdiman. I am a 25 year-old member of the US National Luge Team. I have been involved in my sport since I was 12. Luge has enriched my life in many ways, allowing me to grow and mature while experiencing the adrenaline-pumping thrill of speed and international competition. Over these past few years, I have earned the right to call myself an elite level athlete competing in World Cup and World Championship events.
For the past three years, following the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic Games, my teammate and I have been the top ranked international team for the US. While on tour we get to visit countries like Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy to name a few. The trips are expensive and with a struggling economy and no government support for athletes in the US, they are becoming increasingly harder to fund.
With the upcoming February 2014 Olympics in Sochi, Russia, I am asking for your help in supporting my dream to get to the podium. I have been working very hard to prepare myself for this upcoming season, and I truly believe that I can achieve podium success if I get my opportunity.
