Support The Coleman Family

Our dear friends the Colemans are falling on very rough times. Breandan is extremely ill with a painful herniated disk as well as frustrating neurological symptoms that have the doctors stumped and require a multitude of often painful diagnostic procedures. Currently he is on complete bed rest in order to heal a CSF leak in his back due to a lumbar puncture last week. Then Maeve (their five year old) smashed her ankle in a bike accident. Helen is holding down the whole fort with three small children on her own and needs some help, love, and support. In January Breandan and Helen made the well planned out decision to better their family’s lives by pursuing higher education. Helen had already been pursuing her degree towards nurse midwifery and Breandan made the leap to emergency services as a paramedic. Breandan worked hard all spring on his pre-reqs and was just notified that he made it into the extremely competitive local Paramedical Technology program. Their family planned the finances based on information they were given by the financial aid offices at their school. The government limits the amount one can borrow based on extremely arbitrary rules. One month into school they were informed that the amount promised would be severely reduced due to the fact that the summer semester was shorter than the spring or fall semesters even though the credit hours are exactly the same. Then today they were informed that because Breandan was only enrolled in 10 credits this summer he was no longer considered full time or eligible for loans. This included part of his Pell Grant payout. Breandan took 15 credits in the spring semester, so technically he took more credits in one year than is required for full time students. They are currently in desperate need of funds to pay their bills and mortgage for the next several months and could really use the help. It was never their plan to need assistance and they are working hard to have their dream jobs where they will be more than contributing to the good of society and helping others in need. Please consider showing them some love and support by giving what you can to help out.
