Hello  friends and family. Even if we don't talk often or haven't in years,  everyone knows where my priorities are. I am passionate about my kids. My kids are amazing. They are accomplished,  adventurous, athletic, extremely intelligent, and just great people. They are well versed in politics and concerned about the world we leave to future generations. Nothing is more important than being Daddy to them. I left a company of 23 years to be closer to them in 2015. That was the best decision. I love seeing my daughter multiple times a month for grocery shopping and cooking meals for her. All the kids are in committed relationships, so we like to double or triple date for dinner and drinks. I honestly feel 20 years younger when we are "hitting the town" together. Lol.  We are music lovers and try to go to at least a few concerts as a large group, or individually.  We have seen countless concerts and have many more planned for the summer. My son picked up a summer gig at Columbia last year and may again this year. I love to just share space with them, even if it's passing eachother in the kitchen and squeezing in coffee or the gym. It recharges my soul.  We love our coffee shops, shows, dining, exploration, working out together and acting like tourists occasionally just for a laugh. There's always lots of  laughter, conversation, and a strong sense of family. I have been lucky, never having any heath issues, but, about 6 weeks ago, I had what I thought was a little constipation. It was actually something much worse. Emergency Room visit and after the next 20 days, they would perform an endoscopy, two colonoscopy, MRI, x-ray and finally a biopsy of a massive growth in my lower abdomen. I had so much internal bleeding that caused my hemoglobin levels to drop from a 12 to 10 overnight. The doctors said it was a 9x9x9 mass, and had been growing in my lower abdomen for at least 6-7 months The mass was putting pressure on everything in that part of my body, including digestion. Dr. Picora, a world-class pioneer in this wasted no time, scheduling my surgery for this Thursday., for fear that if the mass were to grow, it may be inoperable. We were not prepared for this financially, having paid down lots of old debt recently and committing our support to other family members months ago. Hackinsack Medical says my insurance will only cover 70 percent. Together has power. Anything you can support us with will help. Even after surgery, my recovery will be a tough I imagine.

I have to pay 10 k  of any cost of major surgery before Aetna will start to pay from there. And when they start to pay, they will only cover 70 percent for any major medical procedure. Aside from my insurance company, Hackinsack Medical  billed us $2800 in advance of the surgery, saying that although my surgery is scheduled, we would need to pay up front before surgery to avoid cancellation. Thanks for reading, and please give whatever you can.
