Renacer : Rethink & Revitalize

Renacer is a non-profit organization operating in Guatemala that works with indigenous Mayan populations to reduce maternal mortality and improve reproductive health care services available to pregnant and expecting mothers. Currently, maternal mortality rates among indigenous Mayan women in Guatemala is as high as 446 deaths per 100,000 live births, which is over 20 times higher than the ratio for women in the U.S. Renacer aims to reduce the rate of preventable deaths in rural Mayan villages, where access to care is practically non-existent, through increased access to services, education, and outreach initiatives.
