Champions for Chris

Donation protected

After weeks of testing, probing, prodding, biopsy-ing and more, on February 9, 2017 Chris was diagnosed with a rare, complex, aggressive, stage IV metastatic bile duct cancer - Cholangiocarcinoma that has spread to his liver, lungs & lymph nodes. He was given 6 months to a year to live w/out treatment; 1-3 years with treatment, depending on how well his body responds.

The question, "Why do bad things happen to good people?" Does not even begin to cover the karmic wrongness of Chris's diagnosis. Always having been a great dad to his two sons Zachary & Landry, a devoted husband of almost 30 years to the love of his life Shayna, not to mention being a loving son, son-in-law, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend to many should have exempted him from the pain and suffering he's having to endure. Anyone that knows Chris personally will you tell you what a witty, good-natured, comical guy he is, who makes the best out of every situation and always sees the glass half full. And, having cancer is no different. Even though he's asked, "Why me, Lord?" He has stopped to think, "Why not me?" Nobody should have to fight this battle but, Cancer does not discriminate and it shows no mercy, so unfortunately, people do. Chris & Shayna know that they are not alone in this fight.

Many of you have asked what you could do for Chris & Shayna and their family as they fight this battle. First and foremost, I would ask if you would please join us in praying for them. Pray for Chris's complete healing! Pray for the side effects to be minimal during harsh treatments. Pray for daily strength and energy mainly for Chris but, for Shayna as well as she focuses on providing the very best care for Chris while continuing to work as well. Matthew 18:20 says, "For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them."

Secondly, I ask that you would consider giving a financial gift to help meet their needs. Fighting cancer is extremely expensive! Thankfully they have insurance, but out of pocket expenses, along with uncovered medical treatments, required medications that are not covered, travel expenses (just to name a few) are still several thousands of dollars and are rapidly increasing.

Those of you who know Chris & Shayna know that they are not ones to ask for money in any way. They are first to help anyone in need, often going above and beyond to put others before them. Throughout this journey they remain positive and strong and are prepared to do whatever it takes to find a cure!

For four months they have managed but, now they have both exhausted all of their sick leave and vacation time. They will experience a significant loss in income due to the necessary unpaid time off from work that is required for Chris to continue his battle against this ugly disease!

No donation will be considered too small and any amount given would greatly help. Having the financial burden lifted and freeing them of the financial stress and worry would allow them to focus 100% on Chris's fight and his beating cancer!

Lastly, I understand if you are unable to give at this time. Would you please share this post and link to Chris's go fund me account? Each and everyone of you spreading the word is greatly appreciated.

I know they are so grateful! Thank you for supporting Chris & Shayna and their family by your prayers, encouragement, financial gifts and spreading awareness.
