My name is Akiva. I was born in Ghana, raised in New York, and have spent over a decade working with non-profits across the world. Life has blessed me with many opportunities, but in recent years I’ve faced serious challenges that have left me fighting for both my health and stability.

My Health Journey:

In 2020, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Shortly after, while seeking treatment, I was also diagnosed with stage three gastric cancer. The tumor was successfully removed—thank G-d—but the medical bills have been overwhelming. Without insurance, I’ve been carrying these expenses on my own while continuing treatment and recovery.

Housing & Stability:

Because of the medical costs, I’ve fallen behind on rent and now face the threat of eviction. Having a safe, stable home is essential for me to focus on healing and rebuilding.

Rebuilding Dreams:

Before these setbacks, I was working on an entrepreneurial project inspired by my non-profit work—something that would create jobs and support vulnerable communities. With your help, I can not only recover but also revive this vision to impact lives beyond my own.
