Kurt and Pam worked tirelessly to benefit the Children's Academy and were long time board members of The Children's Academy. Pam served as Past Chair and was Secretary of the Board . Kurt held the office of Vice Chair and guardian ad litem.
The mission of the Children's Academy of SW Florida is to
to provide childcare for children of the working poor (whether homeless, fostered, in out-of- home placement, have suffered abuse or with special needs).
The academy's goal is to serve these children in a quality, developmentally appropriate, and challenging environment, while providing a solid foundation for lifelong success.
The organization, originally Manatee County Nursery School, was founded by Eleanor Roosevelt in 1935 as part of the WPA program under the New Deal administration to provide day care for children of the working poor.
Incorporated in 1972, casf is a non-profit 501(c)3, United Way agency. Through the generosity of community, they have been able to provide quality care for children of need in Southwest Florida continuously for nearly 8 decades. More than 35,000 children, (infants to 12 year olds) have benefitted from childcare and educare programs.
