KIDNEY TRANSPLANT...
My little sister...she is a beautiful, strong, brave, intelligent and loving, daughter, sister, and wife.  She has always put the needs of others above her own, whether it’s feeding every stray animal she comes into contact with, or just being there for her family and friends, she is amazing!   Four years ago, she began the the uncertain journey with polycystic kidney disease.   It all started with a trip to the doctor because she wasn’t feeling well.  They sent her directly to the ER due to dangerously high blood pressure.  After nearly two weeks in the hospital, endless tests and blood work, the diagnosis of polycystic kidney disease was confirmed. After seeing her nephrologist as well as some research of her own, she was told that a transplant would eventually be her only option for survival.  She followed all doctors orders to a “T” with the hopes of staying as healthy as possible and avoid complete kidney failure for as long as possible.  Her diligence certainly made a difference, her kidney function remained just under 20 percent for quite some time.  She was told that the transplant list wasn’t an option until her kidney function fell below 15 percent.  I can remember so clearly, how upset our Dad was, that he couldn’t be tested immediately with the hope of being able to save her.  We lost our Dad 2 years ago, which took it’s toll on all of us. And just six short months after his passing, she was diagnosed with breast cancer.  She decided that a double mastectomy was the best option for her to avoid future complications/reoccurrence of the cancer.  She made it through numerous surgeries, with her loving husband by her side for every minute of it.  The stress of the breast cancer and multiple surgeries, unfortunately put her in kidney failure.  Through much anxiety and medical red tape, she was finally approved and placed on the kidney transplant list near the end of 2017.  After her latest surgery for ovarian cysts, and one ovary removed, all pathology came back clean, and we have been approved for the transplant!!  Our transplant surgery is scheduled for early June.  I am so very thankful that I have been blessed with the opportunity to be a living donor for my sister! She will be be facing a huge financial struggle after the transplant, from medical bills, to lost wages for her and her husband.  I am hoping that together we can raise enough funds to give her a chance to recover without financial worry.  Please, If there is anything at all you can spare, no amount is too small, your generosity is greatly appreciated.
