Hey there friends, I need some help!
I am in need of a laparoscopic hysterectomy to remove my uterus due to a very large uterine fibroid (benign) tumor. Eight months ago, this was the size of a tennis ball, but recently my doctor estimated that it is quite possibly the size of a grapefruit and is putting pressure on my colon, kidneys and other organs. The surgery cost needed up front for this is $2,880, and will need some sort of down payment for the hospital, which I'm aiming for $1,000. I am uninsured, but I will be getting financial assistance through a program through St. David's hospital for their fees, but that will not cover the cost of the surgeon's fee, which is needed up front. This is set to happen in late September, so anything that you all could help me with would be very much appreciated. When I was first diagnosed in January, I wasn't aware of how sick it would make me or how quickly this would hinder my ability to function. I am in quite a bit of pain and discomfort which seems to be getting worse by the day. If I could, I would try to save up this money myself, but due to the recent increase in symptoms, I am clearly out of time. I can honestly say that I have never been in anywhere near this much pain ever before in my life. Fibroid tumors are common in women, but due to the size of mine and it's location, as well as the fact that I have endometriosis, my only option to ensure these issues are resolved for good is removal of my uterus.
