Robert Caldwell Bday Tribute

Robert E. Caldwell's birthday is today! As my way of paying tribute to my baby brother, a member of the Granite Mountain IHC that perished along side 18 of his fellow crews members on June 30th, 2013 well battling the Yarnell Fire in Arizona, I set a goal on his birthday every year to raise funds in the amount based on his age he would've turned (this year he would've been 25 years old on August 7th) that will grant financial support to future firefigthers that uphold his core values and beliefs.

For Robert, being a hotshot was not just a job, it was a passion and it completed him. His most memorable quote was, "I'd rather die in my boots when live in a suit". He was proud to be part of a brotherhood and, more so, part of tradition of men that protected their communities and people that reside in them.

This year your donation contributes to the Robert E. Caldwell & Grant Q. McKee Memorial Training Award, two $1,900 established for SAC Fire Academy recruits.
