HELP THE UKRAINIAN REFUGEES AND ORPHANS
Donation protected
Dear Friends, Family and Colleagues,
The world is witnessing something that could repeat the history of the 30’s and 40’s. It is heart-wrenching to look at the current aggression against Ukraine and sit idle.
I’m Tatiana, founder of Sung8te; a Toronto-head quartered international not-for-profit humanitarian organization.
I was born in Kyiv, and my immediate family, friends, and childhood, are Ukrainian. The same goes for my cofounder Ivanna from Ivano-Frankivsk. Our Families are still in Ukraine, but some of our friends and people are managing to get out via different borders.
Two years ago, we founded Sung8te, a not-for-profit humanitarian organization commissioned to help those in difficult, complicated circumstances.
Today, we’re mobilizing our network and helping those escaping war, violence, and aggression.
Coming from a Ukrainian immigrant background myself, I’m proud to have Sung8te participate and organize humanitarian relief raised for our efforts for my homeland and war-displaced families.
Please note: Sung8te WILL NOT TAKE ANY ADMINISTRATIVE COMMISSIONS FROM THIS CAMPAIGN!
WHAT HAPPENED:
The ordinary morning of Thursday, February 24th, turned otherwise for many Ukrainians who awoke to the sounds of bombs falling on their cities and homes.
War had broken out across the country. Regular families, just like yours and mine, saw their whole lives grind to a halt, their dreams obliterated.
Overnight, people were forced into Soviet-era bomb shelters to protect their families and themselves from air raids and heavy artillery.
Families sleep on cold floors, ration food and water, and give birth in subway tunnels. Families with young kids and aged parents grab whatever they could carry -- basic clothes, some food, their life savings and documents and try to escape to safety.
Destroyed infrastructure, massive gridlock, and no access to fuel make it impossible to drive, so many are forced to walk for days through frigid winter temperatures and endure sleepless nights before they could reach safety.
Among them are young children, the elderly, and the disabled.
This is an unprecedented humanitarian crisis, one the world has not fully realized. A nation of 40 million people had their lives turned upside down, merely overnight.
Those fleeing their homeland are entering neighboring countries seeking refuge. They understand this refuge is temporary.
WHAT WE’RE DOING:
Sung8te is mobilizing our networks of Canadian and Worldwide friends, colleagues, and associates to help displaced refugees.
We are launching a two-pronged strategy.
First, to help with necessities and applications for refugee status in Canada for women, children, and orphans when possible.
Second, to support lobby efforts in convincing our elected officials to waive temporary visa requirements for Ukrainian families, women and children and orphans seeking the safety of Canada. (Update - This was accomplished this summer to an extent by introducing Laws allowing Work Permit Visas for Ukrainians)
Lastly, to provide immediate support needed with the required humanitarian aid directly to those that needed it and to those we that we know personally, like the Ohmadyt Hospital for Sick Children in Kyiv and Tabletochki org, that SunG8te has been supporting since 2020!
We’re asking for your help in helping those whose lives were so undeservingly displaced.
HOW YOU CAN HELP:
To help those displaced, we’re launching a GoFundMe campaign.
We can’t give back their homes, their families and loved ones, but we can help them get through this horror with dignity and provide opportunities to help rebuild their lives.
As we continue to lobby our governments, the costs to sponsor a family are real, upwards of $12,000 per average family of 4, including:
$570.00 in online application fees ($185 / adult + $100 / child)
$570.00 in counsel fees ($185 / adult + $100 / child)
$8000.00 in airfare and transportation (we’re estimating approx.. $2000 airfare per person);
$2000.00 in short-term food, clothing, and accommodation costs.
Update as of April 2nd - The above numbers have changed during the last two weeks - some programs are now free to apply for, BUT the cost of flights and legal aid to fill out the forms has increased significantly. Let’s keep pressuring the Canadian government to make these free refugee programs NOT just an Open work permit!!!
We thank you for your generous support in helping encourage hope for those displaced from war-torn homes.
As Canadians, we’re known for our compassion, safety, peace, and extending opportunities to those less fortunate and those displaced by extraordinary and unfortunate circumstances.
No one chooses to be a refugee. We’re all vulnerable to the perils and cruelty of war.
Слава Украіні– Героям Слава!!!
Glory to Ukraine!!! Glory to our Heroes!!!
Sung8te is a Canadian not-for-profit humanitarian organization founded in 2020 to help the vulnerable, compromised by their circumstance and more recently impacted by war. Together with our partners and network, we coordinate humanitarian relief helping those displaced seek refuge and safe shelter. We collaborate with international governments and industry partners, including health care networks, transportation (land, sea, air), and local volunteers to help secure critical resources and direct them where they are needed most.
Sung8te is represented by a community of immigrant professionals who understand the perils and challenges refugees from war-torn nations face. We’re determined to give back a positive outcome to those affected.
100% of your donations will be directed to help the most vulnerable affected by war. Join us, and make a difference.
