Miracles For Maddie

When my mother began this fundraiser for my niece Maddie last month, she did so with hopes that her youngest granddaughter would be going home soon despite the fact that doctor's had been telling us to prepare for the worst. According to them, we should have been mourning the loss of our "mad Maddie".
Maddie beat Streptococcus Pneumoniae Meningitis. When she defeated that, she also won several battles with seizures, strokes, dialysis, fluid squeezing her heart, her platelets dropping to dangerous level's, a coma, fluid in her lungs and withdrawal from the massive amount of medications used to help her recover.
Our girl has been in ICU 7 weeks, brought back from heart failure twice, on dialysis for 6 weeks, ventilator for 4 weeks, a massive blood and platelet loss requiring daily transfusion and platelets for 2 weeks, numerous strokes that have resulted in massive brain damage. Maddie has lost the ability to feed herself and now requires a feeding tube they have placed in her stomach probably forever. She is deaf and blind and has no motor skills. We do not know yet if she will ever be able to hold herself up or walk again. We still have to wait and see if there is anymore damage to little body and brain. We do know that she will require full-time care indefinitely.
After weeks of constant fighting, the meningitis is gone. Our baby girl IS coming home one day. For that we will be forever grateful. She will bringing with her a lifetime of medical conditions that have her family heartbroken. Maddie and her family have several more battles to face as she adapts to a world without sound or sight. This is were your prayers are desperately needed.
Our family has been blessed more than we ever hoped to be by the prayers and financal support from our friends and family. Mom is no longer employed because she has been there with Cheyanne, Maddie's mom and Maddie. Mitchell, Maddie's dad, is employed at a temp agency here in Hattiesburg. I also no longer work due to transportation and lack of childcare during the late hours I was working. At the begining of the fundraiser, we were asking for help with day to day expenses. since then, we have been informed that our landlord is intending to sell the property we living in and we need to move. It is with very humble hearts we are asking for help with this also.
Mom and I are both capable of finding employment if we had reliable transportation. If you know of any way to help us obtain a vehicle please et us know.
The money from this fundraiser will be used to get our family back on it's feet and give us a safe place for Maddie to come home to. Any help would be a blessing and your prayers would uplift this family in a very hard time.
