I am Daniele, a 37 year old husband to a wonderful wife, and father of two beautiful daughters.
In October 2017 I received a devastating diagnosis of stage four bowel cancer, which has spread extensively throughout my liver and colon.  At the time of diagnosis, I was given a best case scenario prognosis of 2 years and half.


I immediately started chemo treatments and target therapy and thanks to the amazing work of NHS the therapy was a success. In July 2018 I had surgery on my liver, and later that year I had colon surgery. I hoped the nightmare had ended, but in November 2018 I went for tests and unfortunately discovered that my cancer had returned and spread to my lungs and pelvis. For 18 months my situation was stable, I just had to bear with physical and emotional pain but the last two scans showed a worsening of my condition. 


I am running out of options, my only chance to get better is to start a new treatment called Pipac, which could give a chance to get the pelvic surgery I need. The only way to get this treatment is to join a clinical trial, but unfortunately admissions to the trial have been closed temporarily due to the pandemic in both in the UK and in Italy, my home country.
The cost of the treatment is an eye-watering 20,000 euro every 6/8 weeks, plus an additional 2,000 euro every 2 weeks for the chemo. 



I am desperate to beat this for the sake of my girls and my wonderful wife, I have to try everything I can to have more time with them.  I would be so grateful for any help that you can give me.  If the worst was to happen my family would donate the money left for cancer research and make sure someone else in my condition could benefit from them.

Ciao a tutti,

mi chiamo Daniele, ho 37 anni, sono sposato e ho due bellissime figlie.
Nell'ottobre 2017 mi è stato diagnosticato un cancro al colon con metastasi al fegato. Al momento della prognosi mi sono stati dati due anni e mezzo di vita.
Poche settimane dopo aver ricevuto questa terribile notizia ho iniziato a fare la chemio e la terapia molecolare. Grazie allo straordinario lavoro del servizio sanitario inglese ho ottenuto un buon risultato. Nel luglio del 2018, infatti, ho subito un intervento chirurgico al fegato e pochi mesi dopo un altro al colon. Speravo che l'incubo fosse finito, ma a Novembre 2018, dopo la prima Tac di controllo, ho scoperto che il cancro era tornato e si era diffuso ai polmoni e al peritoneo. Per 18 mesi la mia situazione è rimasta stabile ma ho dovuto fare i conti con dolori fisici ed emotivi non indifferenti. Ultimamente però le mie condizioni stanno peggiorando. 
A questo punto la mia unica possibilità consiste in un trattamento chiamato Pipac, che dovrebbe ridurre le dimensioni delle metastasi al peritoneo e rendere l’intervento di rimozione delle stesse fattibile. Per accedere al trattamento è necessario partecipare a una sperimentazione clinica, ma al momento le ammissioni sono sospese a causa della pandemia (sia nel Regno Unito, paese in cui vivo, che in Italia).
Il costo per ogni trattamento Pipac è di 20.000 euro e va ripetuto ogni 6/8 settimane, il costo della chemio è di 2.000 euro e va effettuata ogni 2 settimane.
Voglio continuare a combattere per poter passare più tempo possibile con la mia famiglia. Se il peggio dovesse accadere, i soldi rimasti verrebbero donati per la ricerca sul cancro, per fare in modo che qualcun altro nelle mie condizioni possa trarne beneficio.
