For Our Superhero, Ms. Matulich

As many of you have now heard, Ms. Matulich and a few other teachers at UP were having their picture taken in the big, old tree standing in front of University Park Elementary. Apparently, as she was getting down, her foot missed the ladder and she fell. 911 was called immediately and at the same time a trauma specialist (doctor) from Parkland was driving by the school. He happened to hear the ambulance dispatch from his radio in his car and stopped immediately. He held her head securely in his hands until the ambulance got there and secured it with a brace. (Seems like an angel from heaven to me.) She was taken to Baylor ER where they performed a CT scan and MRI. Her injuries are quite serious and required an extensive surgery. The doctors feel positive about the surgery, but can't predict a long term prognosis right now because so much of the first few weeks is a "wait and see" situation. The operating team said she was one of the sweetest patients they had ever had. No surprise there.

The money raised will go towards any medical and rehabilitation expenses not covered by her insurance, as well as any additional care she may need. Sadly, it looks like Ms. M may have long and challenging recovery.

Her sister and brother-in-law drove in from Mississippi and are here by her side. As always, Robin is in good spirits. She is alert and talking although she is in quite a bit of pain. Please keep lifting Robin up in prayer. Especially right now, God is her strength, her comfort and her hope. If you know Robin, you are well aware of how precious she is to all of us.
