Rebekah's Health

Rebekah was diagnosed with severe Crohn's disease at age 14 and it has been a decade long battle trying to find a path to remission. She has been in and out of hospitals, seen top specialists, tried countless medications, completed food sensitivity tests and followed strict dietary regulations, taken supplements, and overall done everything short of massive surgery. Rebekah has been doing well on her latest medication and had remained out of the hospital for a year, but it appears the medication may no longer workand options are limited as to where to go from here. She went to the ER last Friday, May 19, 2017 and was sent home with antibiotics and pain killers; hopeful it was just a bacterial infection causing symptoms, but had to be admitted on Friday and remains in the hospital as symptoms became drastically worse. Tests and scopes revealed the levels of inflammation are indeed worsening and the medication has lost its efficacy and is no longer a suitable treatment option, at least not at this dosage. Rebekah will be meeting with a new preeminent IBD specialist to determine next steps as quickly as possible. Due to the severity of her condition and the time it takes to treat her condition, Rebekah has had to take a different approach to work and quit her corporate job last year to pursue more entrepreneurial endeavors that allow her the flexibility to work and rest when she needs to. As soon as she is out of the hospital and more stable she is able to resume running her businesses, but in the meantime she is without ability to make an income and hospital bills as well as follow up treatment is incredibly expensive. This account was set up strictly because people constantly ask, "how can I help?" There is no obligation to give, however if you would like a way to support Rebekah as she recovers, this is the most tangible way to do so. Thoughts and prayers are just as valuable as any donation, and every single one is cherished! Rebekah is one of the most giving and selfless people when someone is in need. I pray all the seeds she has sown throughout her life come back 10 fold.
