Friends and Family, 
In the famous words of Thomas Jefferson, "friendship is precious, not only in 
the shade, but in the sunshine of life, and thanks to benevolent arrangement the 
greater part of life is sunshine." As many of you may know, my best friend Mary Kay is in need of some sunshine. 
She was born with polycystic kidney disease and about five months ago was given 
the devastating news that her kidneys were not functioning at an acceptable 
level, and the only option would be to find a donor for a kidney transplant. 
Prayers were answered when I was tested and declared a match for donating a 
kidney to my best friend. Unfortunately, the transplant process is a long and 
grueling one, and Mary Kay had to start dialysis treatments June 26th. The 
treatments are three times a week, and about three hours per session. 
This family is not out of the shade, yet. Times are very tough, to say the 
least. This diagnosis has completely altered their world, and Mary Kay, Ron, and 
the girls need the prayers and support from friends and family in order to put 
the sunshine back in their lives. 
Mary Kay has a long road to recovery ahead. As her best friend and donor, I'm 
asking for friends and family to rally around the Finley family to show our 
support. 
Ron is laid off from work here and there, and Mary Kay is unable to return to work 
while receiving dialysis and will soon be recovering from the transplant 
surgery. The medication she is currently taking costs about $120 a month, and 
after the transplant the medication she needs is estimated at about $600 a 
month. 
They need our help. An online fundraiser has been set up to help Mary Kay and 
her family get through this difficult time. The funds received will go directly 
to the Finleys to help them with co-pays, gas money and parking (while at the 
hospital), groceries, and any other medical expenses they may incur. 
Thank you for your love and support for Mary Kay, Ron, and the Finleys. Please 
continue to pray for the family and the medical staff caring for Mary Kay. I'm 
looking forward to sharing many more moments of sunshine with Mary Kay.
