Writing in the Wilderness

Recently my tarot card reading told me to dance on the volcano edge of life and follow my heart's desires (I'm paraphrasing, but that was the general gist of it). This is great and sometimes scary advice which I am trying to listen to these days.
As many of you know, my first novel, MAP OF THE INVISIBLE, has found an agent and is on its way to finding a published home (hopefully). In the meantime I received a really, really exciting 5-week writing residency this fall where I will be living in a secluded woodland cabin, and left to my own devices. I feel certain this means the beginnings of Novel #2, a so far elusive entity. All that exists of it at this point are some notes that say, "Desert? Hit man? Cult? Disappearance? Hex?"
I'm so thrilled for this opportunity for lots of reasons. There will be no Instagram, no city-life distractions, no WORK (this is both good & bad news...hence the fundraising). I am hoping to make the starving artist/writer life a bit more manageable during this time with your help (plane tickets, cost of living, lack of employment, writerly supplies like pretty notebooks, coffee when I walk into town because I MUST get free wi-fi, etc). This will be the first uninterrupted five weeks of my adult life that is geared solely toward what I love to do the most, which is write, and I'm so excited.
