Ride for Charlie - 3T24

Over the weekend of the 22nd and 23rd of August myself, Scot Easter and my good friend Scott Chalmers have set ourselves a little challenge.  To ride 170+ Miles, off road from Glasgow to Inverness, non-stop in under 24 hours. Our goal is to raise as much money and awareness as we can for the Ride for Charlie charity. Both Scott and myself knew Charlie Craig a little, we'd got to know him through our mutual love of riding and racing bikes.  Constantly in awe of not only his raw talent but of how much of an amazing young man he was growing into, he was a credit to his parents Nick, Sarah, and his older brother Tom. We were both devastated when we heard he had gone to bed peacefully on the 21st January 2017 and didn't wake up.   He was 15 years old. Nick and Sarah set up Ride for Charlie in memory of Charlie. The fund supports young off road cyclists towards fulfilling aspirations inspired by Charlie, encouraging others to follow  in Charlie's pedal strokes. The Challenge.  So, this is a long distance route I've had my eye on for a while.  Starting in Glasgow we will ride the West Highland Way route, up along Loch Lomond and into the Highlands of Scotland.  We will pass through Glencoe and over the Devils staircase before finishing the WHW in Fort William.  But we wont stop there, we will carry on to the Great Glen Way and cut diagonally across Scotland, along Loch Lochy and Loch Ness before finishing in Inverness having covered over 170 miles and climbed over 18,000ft in altitude....and we plan to do this non-stop....and in under 24hours....gulp.
