How Tough? Morris Tough!
Have you ever looked into someone's eyes who is suffering an intense amount of pain or agony? Maybe a child? Maybe a family member or a friend and felt that hopeless feeling of not being able to do anything to help?? well please read this....
Tim and i have decided to tough it out and represent one of the most amazing and inspirational family's we know in this years Tough Mudder in October.
In 2006 the Morris family was turned upside down when their youngest son samuel had a near drowning accident their pool and sustained terrible hypoxic brain injury leaving him with severe disabilities.
Samuel's disabilities have meant that he has required a range of equipment and ongoing therapy. Most of the equipment that Samuel needed was VERY expensive and the waiting lists to receive this equipment can be up to two years long, not to mention the endless surgery's and time spent in hospital.
In response to this tragedy in 2007 the Morris family started up a foundation for awareness and to raise funds to help others in need. Funds which the Morris family does not benefit from.
Samuel's dad (Michael) is a member of the New South Wales Fire Brigades (NSWFB) and also works tirelessly for the foundation as well as supporting his family and the many needs of his beautiful son samuel.Samuel's mum Jo-ann also works with the foundation as well as Being a full time career.
Tim and I have watched this family's journey and the constant struggle as the years go by their difficult life. Their ups, their downs and the agony of watching their child go through intense amounts of pain and suffering and the helplessness of not being able to do anything to help him. Sadly watching moments where they were told their son will not be coming home and the moments they are told that there is just nothing more we can do for samuel.
This Beautiful Family inspires us.
For all they have been dealt they still have the courage to stand up and help others in need. They share their journey openly and they don't even realise the impact that they have on other family's.
Tim and I are so grateful for what we have and the great gifts we have been given in life, but the most important thing we have is our Health. With out Great health life becomes unbelievably challenging and hard.
Soo we decided we would pay it forward and do something positive for someone in need and of course this amazing family was on our mind.
So we are asking EVERYONE to help us make a difference by donating.
Please not are are not collecting for this family's foundation but for the Morris Family themselves. One can only imagine the financial boundary's this family endures with Jo-ann not being able to work and Michael already having to take so much unpaid leave from work to be at his sons side. I ask you all to dig deep and help us raise funds to bring a little shed of light in such times of need.
On this note i will leave you with a final thought.
If you knew and have been told your child does not have much time left could you imagine the feeling of having to leave your child to go to work to keep the house afloat.
I know i would want to spend my every minute with my child.......
Sadly bills still need to be paid and the worlds keeps turning but we can all help a little by giving a little.
