Tragedy: Help uplift 3 small hearts

Sixteen year ago, a family dedicated their lives to public service right in the heart of the New River Valley. Throughout the years, the Smith family would endure all the heartaches and struggles associated with a husband and father serving as a police officer in the City of Radford, VA. There were no complaints. They accepted the risks that came with dad’s career which offered few rewards. The Smith’s simply thanked the Lord for what they did have. What they had was each other, and it was beautiful!
The Smith family’s faith and perseverance was consistently fueled by a loving, caring mother. Nichole Smith was a full-time health professional and terrific spouse. Most importantly, she was an unrivaled mother of twin boys and a two year- old toddler. This family was truly blessed and represented everything of what it meant to be happy and thankful. They have without a doubt been proud Americans and loyal Virginian’s.
Unexpectedly without warning, Nichole recently passed away at the young age of 38. Unfortunately, Nichole’s passing at such an early age has left a heavy burden on this wonderful family. The difficulties Detective Smith faces are overwhelming. However, one of the most problematic obstacles of all is the fact that there are three small children to raise on a police officer’s salary.
Now more than ever, our brother needs our help to ensure the future and well-being that he and his wife worked so hard to secure for their boy’s. Very rarely will you see cops show emotion, cry, or ask for help. Rest assured, there’s not one police officer in our department that has looked in those kid’s eyes and been able to choke back the tears. Now, as an agency and on the behalf of Jimmy, Weston, Conner, & Bryson, we are asking for your help. We ask that you please, please, help us help this family!
