Bodies in Balance Fragrance Free Pilates

Bodies in Balance is a Fragrance-Free Pilates Studio for those seeking a non-toxic environment in which to practice Pilates. I am in the process of moving to a larger space, and I am seeking your support to raise $5,000 for necessary improvements.
Hi, my name is Mary Sue Corrado and my mission is to expand my non-toxic and fragrance-free Pilates studio to serve a larger number of clients suffering from asthma, severe allergies, Multiple Chemical Sensitivity, a compromised autoimmune system, or anyone desiring to workout in a fragrance-free non-toxic environment.
In moving my private practice out of my living room (photo above) and into a commercial building (before, during and almost done photos below), I have chosen to up-grade the space with non-toxic, no or low voc (volatile organic compounds), sustainable or recycled materials. The work is almost completed, and I am seeking donations to help defray the costs of the materials and installation: $5,000. Floating bamboo flooring (no glue or laminate) and Whisper Wool underlayment (sustainable wool product used as subflooring that is also biodegradable $2100), IQ Air GC Multigas air purifier ($1200), materials to build a dressing room ($300), and moving costs (movers, signage, printing $1400).

Here is a little bit of my story:
A former dancer, I began teaching Pilates in Houston, Texas in 1983. In 1992 I moved to Seattle in order to open the first commercial studio, Pilates Bodies Conditioning Studio here. Due to trademark issues we had in our industry, I changed the name to Bodies in Balance Conditioning Studio. The new name fit my business and philosophy perfectly, so I kept it even after the trademark issues were resolved.

My clients have a wide range of abilities, disabilities, allergies, sensitivities, and other health concerns (I myself was diagnosed with Multiple Chemical Sensitivity 3 years ago). Over the years I have adapted traditional Pilates techniques to meet every client's individual needs. Needing to take care of my own needs - for example, I wear a mask with a carbon insert - has made me even more sensitive to the needs of my clients.

My job is my passion. My personal challenges with chemical sensitivity have allowed me to become even more sensitive to the varied needs of my clients, both current and future. Thank you for helping me continue to be able to offer Pilates instruction to underserved segments of the population.

You can read more about me and my business on my website (and you will see that I took my mask off for the photo shoot :) www.bodiesinbalancepilates.com
Thank you so much for your support!

Before any improvements.

Good-bye carpet. My small air purifier is just not big enough for the new space.

Time for the new floor. But this went down first...

Beautiful floating bamboo floor.

Dressing room and baseboards.
