Lauren’s road to recovery

Donation protected
As some of you might know, my niece Lauren Herschbach was in a terrible car accident on 10/16/21. She was air lifted from the accident to the University Trauma center.  After many scans they found two brain  bleeds, one inner and one outer and they had to put a catheter into her head to determine pressure and extent of injuries.  She remained unconscious for  the next 10 days and has just started to wake up and become aware of her surroundings.  Lauren currently has a trach and is not able to talk but seems to have some mobility in her right arm and is able to communicate some with American sign language.  At this time she does not have full function of her left side and has not been sat up to try and move or walk.  She is extremely confused, scared, and doctors will not speculate on her recovery time or extent of physical therapy she will need.  Lauren has a long road ahead of her and anything we can do to help with her medical bills will allow her to focus on her mental and physical strength. Please continue to pray for Lauren, her doctors, her family and her recovery.  Social media is an amazing tool, please share on all platforms that you are on to get the word out and help this girl get back on her feet!!

Here's a little more about Lauren!

Lauren is working on finishing her final semester at Mizzou to obtain a degree in Health Sciences. She just bought her cap and gown, legacy stole and honors cord. She was on track to graduate Summa Cum Laude this December.
Lauren loves to travel, she has visited so many different places and loves the adventure of exploring somewhere new.

Lauren has always led an active and involved life and has continued her love for cheerleading by being the assistant cheer coach at Smithton Middle School.

Lauren has a love for fitness and has always driven herself for success. She recently joined CrossFit Aggregate with me a few months ago and has thrived within the aggregate community. The group has supported her and that gave her the drive to better her strength and technique.  That look in her eye is determination to beat me..... it only works about half the time :)
This is what 150 wall balls with 70 singles every 2 mins looks like!!

The aftermath!

This was Lauren's first time trying to pick up a 100 lb bag!

Lauren was planning on joining the Marine Corp in January, in OCS officer candidate school. All of her attention, focus and drive to succeed was focused on finishing this chapter of her life and starting a new one with the Marine Corp has shown in everything she is doing.

We ask that if you are able to help out at all, no matter how small, please do. Lauren is going to have a mountain of medical bills and continued treatment ahead of her and if we can help minimize the financial burden, Lauren can focus on her health, strength and life ahead.  Please share with everyone you know and all social media platforms out there.
