Kaboom Ministries Kickoff

Dear Friends,

I am using this site to share something that God has laid on my heart to pursue. Back in May while out in Yosemite National Park, I was praying about the direction God wanted me to pursue; a full time church position or create a new ministry to serve the body of Christ through the different talents and abilities He has equipped me with.

Many friends and family have encouraged me to try something like this for some time, but I have allowed fear and doubt keep me from stepping out into this unknown area. I can truly relate to Abraham and what he may have struggled with as God told him to pack up and move to a place that He would later reveal. I felt God tugging on my heart while sitting next to a beautiful mountain lake in Yosemite. I drew out a picture with two paths. A traditional route that led to a church and a curvy path that led to this unknown ministry.

After praying and talking with April, we feel led to take another step towards the unknown. God has given a name to this new ministry and we have a clear vision of what we would like to accomplish. The name: KaBoom Ministries. The vision: We exist to partner with the local church to help them make a dynamic impact on the children's ministry of their church.
Our Goal: "To unleash single minded, Christ-centered, biblically-anchored, world changers."

We believe that we can best minister to the body of Christ by offering to local churches a variety of ministries and programs. These include: strategic planning and evaluations on building a successful children's ministry, volunteer workers encouragement/training, kids and family programs, and designing effective Sunday morning programs to fit each individual church.

One way we desire to help churches is to offer Parent seminars. We are excited to announce that I (Tom) have been accepted as a presenter for the National Center for Biblical Parenting (http://biblicalparenting.org). Some of you may be familiar with this ministry and I am very excited to be partnering with them. In order for me to do this, I need to attend a special training to be held in September out in Los Angeles. I need to ask your help to attend this. I need to raise about $1800 By Aug. 30, to attend this training and am prayerfully asking you to consider helping me. It is not easy for me to do this but I feel that God's leading me along this path and this is one way for his people to help provide for a need. Any gift would be gratefully accepted and used specifically for this training. I cannot offer any tax receipts at this time but there is potential for me to take KaBoom Ministries to a non-profit status in which at that time any support of the ministry would be tax deductible. You can use this site to donate whatever you can.
