Barbara, Our most dear and beloved friend and loving Midwife to many, many families over the last 30 yrs experienced extensive and damaging flooding (over a foot!) throughout her entire home from Fridays "hurricane".
She has lost half of her belongings, her bed, extensive medical library, photo albums, and her drums from Africa, to name a few.
Her insurance will not cover any of this loss!
At this moment, Barb is looking for a new home to move into, as her home is inhabitable.
If anyone knows of a small casita, preferably in the north valley, 1 bedroom with a garden under $700 please share with barb or here asap.
Also,of huge importance to Barb, every other year in December, she travels to Africa and India for a month to serve in remote villages that are lacking in, or have no access to any medical attention.
She saves up her money and collects medical supplies throughout the year to take with her, bringing basic equipment; ambu-bags, surgical instruments, toothbrushes, life-saving medications to pregnant mothers etc.
Knowing this trip may have to be pushed back another year will be so disappointing, and heartbreaking.
She loves so much to able to serve and give to others. It's what brings her so much joy and happiness.
If we could all reach out and give a little bit back to Barb, to help get her back on her feet, and help her on her way abroad, it would be bigger than she ever imagined possible!
