3rd Year Costume Final Piece
Donation protected
For my third year project I need to make a costume to a high level with correct fabrics to the era that has the correct styling. This will consist of many different costs to get it to the level it needs to be; to enable me to get a first and to be correct to the era I will be aiming for it to be at. The image above is the costume I have chosen to make from the Tudor era. This is my utter and complete passion and I would love to be able to finish my third year with a costume which will part of my portfolio and that I will be able to keep for life
The costs in particular will be spent on such things like:
-correct fabric to the era without synthetic materials added (silk, 100% cotton, wool)
-fastenings (hook and bars, eyelets etc.)
-boning for the corseted bodice
-steels for a panier; the more steel there is the higher the price
-decoration including (beading, sequins, materials to create central pieces to the garments, extra material to add different smaller details
-multiple different types of threads so that they match the types of fabrics being used
-interfacings to give the costume stability and shape overall
These are just a small amount of things I will need to be funding; the fabrics will be the main section on where the budget will go due to having to be periodically accurate. Meaning all fabrics have to be 100% wool, silk etc increasing the price massively as fabrics today are usually a combination of synthetic and the other fibres.
If you could help in anyway it will be greatly appreciated
thank you in advance
