Journey to IVF

I had a plan for my life just like everyone else. I wanted to finish college, get married by the time I was 30, and start a family. I finished college in 2010, got married in 2014, and started trying to get pregnant at the end of 2014. Here it is almost 5 years later and I have not gotten pregnant. It turns out I’m 1 in 8 of Americans that suffers from infertility. My insurance doesn’t cover any infertility treatment which means everything is out of pocket. I tried the first step of infertility treatment which is IUI. It is a lower cost option. I completed a round of IUI at the beginning of April and did not get pregnant. I’m going to try again in May. I’m hoping it works but I’m trying to plan for the next step. IVF is expensive and can cost up to $15,000. I’m asking for help because I want to be a mom more than anything else in the world. I met the love of my life when I was in the 8th grade. Here we are 21 years later and we are still together. We have been married for 5 years. We have a house, two fur babies, and the only thing missing now is a child.
