Gator's Travel Fund for UCI Races

Donation protected
Post-Nationals EDIT! This past winter I dreamed about making it onto the US National Team, donning the red, white and blue of our country's flag and proudly racing my heart out at World Cups/other international races. AND now I have been given the opportunity to prove that I belong on the team... and I almost can't believe it's happening!!

Elite Timed National Championships were this past weekend in LA and my performance impressed the people who count. I've been asked to return to LA after Montreal for more training/testing to see what I can do, and I believe that this is the beginning of the next chapter of my career!

I haven't made it yet. This doesn't mean that I get to stop putting 105% of everything I've got into every workout - I still have so far to go to make it in the world of track cycling. But it's a great start, and means there will be more traveling, more racing and more awesome in the very near future for me.

To help assist with the cost of travel to this training camp and other events, I have increased my fundraiser target. Thank you, each and everyone, for all of your support!!

Fundraiser Description: to raise funds to travel to Montreal, Canada this September for my first international track race.

Trip Goals:

1. UCI Points: New UCI rules require that to be able to compete at World Cups, World Championships, and the Olympics riders must travel around the world and compete at UCI races to collect points. My goal over the next couple of years is to be selected to represent the USA at World Cup events on the track in the Keirin and Sprint events. If I am selected I must also have enough UCI points to be eligible for these races.

2. Gain Experience: Just as it is important to test out new equipment and become familiar with it before race day, it is also important to race at higher levels of competition for the benefit of learning about the other riders, getting exposure to the chaos, noise, race nerves and overall atmosphere of the event. My goal is to be the best in my sport and ultimately travel to the 2016 Olympics, and to do that I must start to compete against the best female sprinters in the world.

3. Be Awesome: "˜nuf said. If you need more information about awesome, please stand-by and Kid President will break it down for you.
