Medical help

The holidays came early for our friend and agility instructor, Elise Paffrath, who thought that she would have to wait another year to have a knee replacement and regain her mobility. Due to an unexpected cancellation, she got a surgery date and a new knee on December 17th!! While this is wonderful and exciting news, it does bring challenges that anyone familiar with a small business can relate to.

The cost of keeping a space like Breeze Thru Agility open is substantial given rent, heat, and electricity which Elise has to pay whether she is working or not. Her surgeon has warned her to be careful about starting back too soon so somewhere around 6 to 8 weeks recovery is anticipated. We are therefore reaching out to her agility community in hopes that we can come together to help defray these expenses, along with her stress level, during her recovery period.

Elise has given us so many happy hours working with our dogs over the past 25 years, we’d love it if she could focus her attention on healing and strengthening without the stress of trying to resume classes too soon simply to keep these expenses covered.

Please know there is no amount too small, every bit will be gratefully appreciated and will make a difference to ensure that BTA’s doors can stay open for all our enjoyment and that our friend Elise can put her attention toward her recovery. Thank you in advance for your consideration and generosity. Agility people are simply the best! Wishing everyone — human and canine alike — a happy, healthy holiday!!
