MEDLIFE Ontario COVID-19 Race for Relief

Here at MEDLIFE, our goal is to help low-income communities around the world gain access to healthcare, a basic human right that many of these communities lack. Unfortunately, however, the COVID-19 pandemic has complicated our efforts to work with our partner communities in South America, and it has had devastating effects on the families within them.
The COVID-19 pandemic has affected us all immensely, but the reality is that it disproportionately affects impoverished communities. Many community members do not have stable jobs and instead work as labourers, housekeepers, and nannies to make ends meet. The lockdowns in these communities have prevented individuals from going to work and earning money, and thus, have made it incredibly difficult for them to keep food on the table. Not only could this lead to malnourishment, it also increases their susceptibility to the coronavirus.
Because many of MEDLIFE's patients live in isolated areas, they are unable to travel to seek healthcare during the lockdown. This makes life quite difficult for community members with existing medical conditions. As well, many of our low-income communities are experiencing water shortages and do not have enough water to meet their basic needs.
Our goal is to keep low-income communities healthy during this pandemic, by providing them with essential resources such as food and clean water. We have already delivered food to over 100 families in Lima, Peru, and we're not done yet! We are continuing to raise funds to support our other partner communities however possible.
If you donate to this fundraiser, you'll be helping our partner communities stay healthy during this time of crisis. On top of this, you'll be entered in our Type Racer Tournament! $5 is the minimum donation to be entered in the tournament, but more than that would be even better. If you win the tournament, you'll receive 25% of our donations!
