A little help from my friends

For those of you who know Shannon Lucarelli she is the epitome of selfless- always trying to do for others. She will go out of her way to make sure that you are okay. She is a nurturer by nature and so when she is the one in need of a little love and nurturing it is difficult for her to ask. Therefore her daughter Megan, son AJ, and I decided that we wanted to do something to try and help her out with her recent medical trials and tribulations.
In 2015, Shannon underwent what was scheduled to be an outpatient surgery. A simple, relatively common procedure turned into three additional surgeries and a three day stay in the hospital. During the initial operation the doctor cut her ureter, resulting in Shannon almost losing a kidney. Fast forward two years, five more surgeries, endless tests, appointments, severe pain, and a shockingly unsuccessful medical malpractice suit-she is still in constant care of her doctors. Her quality of life has been forever altered due to the lingering effects of this accident. Shannon is an incredible, hard-working, and dedicated single mother and is always there for her kids, family, work family and friends. She recently decided to take on a part time job in addition to her full time employment- showing her dedication to try and fix her financial situation. She always goes above and beyond for every one of us-on every occasion. We are extremely lucky to have her in our lives and know that she could greatly benefit from a little help from her friends. With that being said, we are hoping to raise some money to help ease the burden of the medical debt incurred over the last three years. Although she is done with the bulk of her procedures, this unfortunately is something she will have to struggle with for the rest of her life. Every little bit helps, and we appreciate you taking the time to read Shannon’s story.
