Update: thank you to everyone who helped us! We were able to cover the cost of Abi's prosthetic eye. In the future, if she needs one for her left eye, we'll deal with that when it comes.
Abi is five years old, and joined our family from Ethiopia. She lost her right eye to glaucoma, and will soon lose the left one as well, in spite of our efforts to save it. Since her eye had to be removed, she needs a prosthetic in order for her eye socket to grow properly. Insurance won't cover $2,000, and it's tough for a one income homeschooling family of six to cover that cost. Will you help little Abi get her "pretty brown eye" and help out our family?
