Dear family, As you know, Dominick would never want to ask anyone for anything. I have seen him do so much for so many people. He gives everything he has, with no inhibition. That is a beautiful and rare quality. One that makes my Father such a hero in my eyes. I think that now we have an opportunity to show him how much we appreciate this quality in him. As you know, Dominick just had open heart surgery. A triple bypass to be exact. (I'm sure he'll tell you all about it, and show you his scar, if you haven't seen him yet!)
Before he knew he was going to need surgery, my Dad was trying to get a new laptop. He does a lot of Selling on EBay and Craigslist, and has always been frustrated with something about whatever computer he has to work with. He really wanted to get a MacBook, but got a less expensive computer instead that ended up not working, again... ( It was crap. Believe me I used it this summer.) :) So, he returned that one, and now doesn't have one at all.
The recovery time for the surgery he had is 90 days. He will have to be off work for that long. (3 months) This means he is going to be home. A lot. It also means he is going to be out of a paycheck.
I am asking for your help. I'd like him to have the computer he wants. He needs it now more than ever. We want it to be a surprise to welcome him home from the hospital. He will know it is from everyone. I think that will bless his beautiful, strong heart.
If it is in your heart to be a part of this, of course any amount you would like to give is a blessing and we are truly grateful for.
The computer is $999. If we happen to raise more than that, that will help with medical bills. We don't even know how much those are yet... Anyone who's had big medical bills (and I think most of us has), knows that that would be a huge gift in and of itself.
At the end of the day, My Dad would probably be mad at me for asking anything of any of you. But I know how much he means to so many people. So I want him to have a wonderful welcome home. A lovely and useful gift that says we all care about him in a huge way too.
