Memorial for D'Nita Robinson

Donation protected
D’Nita Robinson was an Oakland native and a member of the community peace advocate under the Ceasefire campaign,  the African American Breastfeeding Cultural Outreach Taskforce and the Preterm Birth Initiative Community Advisory Board.  She was passionate about helping others through education and support.  D'Nita attended Laney College where she studied Child Development, Psychology and was 2 courses away from completing her pathway to take the IBCLC Exam.  She was a proud mother who exclusively breastfed her son Josiah until the age of 3. Becoming a Breastfeeding Peer Counselor and a Lactation Educator was a highlight, and the beginning of a new journey for a D’Nita . It was an opportunity to provide breastfeeding support and education to expecting and new mothers who may not have had another support system.   Recently, D'Nita joined the PTBI's Community Advisory Board where she was able to learn more about preterm birth and how it heavily impacted her community.

On February 13, 2019 our community lost a friend, mother and advocate for birth justice.  D'Nita passed away after a 3 month fight with breast cancer. As of today, her final expenses have not been covered. Family and friends are seeking donations to help raise a grand total of $6,000 please give if you can.
Whether it is a little or a lot we appreciate any amount to help celebrate the home going of our dear sister and friend D'Nita. The funeral home in charge is requesting funds be paid by Wednesday,  February 27th at 5pm. For more questions and  nformation contact Anne Norman at [email redacted]
