Erin's Medical Missions Trip!

Hi,My name is Erin and I am studying to become a pediatric doctor after a few more LONG years of studies. On December 27th I will be
departing on a medical missions trip to Nicaragua for ten days. Nicaragua is
located in Central America between Honduras and Costa Rica. Daniel Ortega
Saavedra is the current president and the country has a population of about
5,785,846 inhabitants. Education is free for all Nicaraguans, however many
children live in rural areas and are unable to attend do to lack of schools and
lack of funds. The purpose of this missions trip is to provide medical
treatment for many of these unfortunate children as well as families that do
not have the money or the opportunity to seek treatment. We anticipate seeing
many families who never had the opportunity to be seen or treated by a doctor.
We will work with local doctors and interpreters to perform basic exams and
diagnose patients with the help of the doctor for their urgent needs.
The trip is being funded entirely through donations and by those who are going on this missions trip. Everything that will be used on the missions trip must be taken with us. We will need donations of children's chewable vitamins, children's liquid allergy medicine, infant fever reducer drops, antacid tablets, hydrocortisone creams, and children's cough syrup. We are also looking for coloring books, crayons, markers, and other children's crafts that we could spend time doing with the children while administering medical care. I am asking you for either help of these donations or financial donations for either these supplies or the help of the cost of the trip. Through the cost of the airfare and other traveling expenses I need to raise at least $3,000. Please note that anything above the cost of the trip will fund extra medical supplies for the unfortunate we are caring for.
