Hello, my name is Nickolas Williams and I’m going to be going to UCLA. I’m majoring in astrophysics and hope to get the best education that I can. The astrophysics field is a difficult one to be in. I’m going to be learning a lot of math and physics, but I’m so excited to start and be able to finally learn what I’m passionate about. Except I have a problem.
I do not have enough money to go to UCLA. My financial aid covers a lot of my tuition, but it’s not entirely enough and I still have expenses that aren’t tuition. Things like books, supplies, food (my meal plan only covers 11 meals a week so I need to buy the other ones separately). I can’t even afford a cheap laptop to use in my coding class.
The past couple years have been the hardest of my life. From losing my mom to cancer, to the stress of finishing high school, and the anxiety that comes with starting a new chapter in my life, it’s been tough. But, that doesn’t mean I am going to give up. I may be many things, but I am not a quitter. Getting through college and coming out successful is my goal and I admit that I need help getting there.
I’ve been through a lot and it took effort to get to where I am and I don’t want money to stand in my way. I am going to be getting a job once I start, but that still wouldn’t be enough to cover everything. I really am doing everything I can, turning to you guys for help is my in case of emergency plan.
I’m the type of person that doesn’t like to ask for help unless it’s necessary, and I don’t know what else to do. Even if you can’t donate you can still help by spreading the word to your friends and family. Please, I need all the help I can get.
