Sochi needs surgery to eat-so hungry!

Donation protected

Hi my name is Lori and I am a failure, a foster failure! After many successful fosters over the years, I met Sochi at a local shelter. I was set to foster her for 10 days before she went to rescue. That was almost 5 months ago. She is now a part of my family but she is very sick. She has a congenital disorder called Persistent Right Aortic Arch (PRAA). She has a branch of her aorta that circles her esophagus causing a stricture that makes it impossible for her to eat solid food.
Sochi is so very sweet, but she is literally starving. She is a little over a year old and weighs only 30 pounds, she should be twice that. I call her my "baby bird" because she is always following me around with her mouth open. She is prone to violent vomiting episodes that go on for hours. Aspiration pneumonia is a big risk. This is not a condition that can be medically managed-it is surgery or euthanasia.
She will soon be having cardiothoracic surgery at Missouri University to remove the vessel circling her esophagus.
I would be so appreciative of any support to help me afford this life saving surgery for a stray German Shepherd girl that finally has a home to call her own and now needs to eat until her belly is full to make all her dreams come true!
