ILet me start by saying Dr. Finklstein is the best doctor I have ever been to. If it weren't for her and her employees I wouldn't be here. And thank you in advance to my family, friends, and people I may not know, yet have the heart to donate. I have been fighting cancer on and off for five years now. My cancer started March 21st 2008 a week before my 17th birthday. My mom and I were cleaning buses at the bus yard where my mom worked. I wasn't feeling good that morning but I went to clean buses anyway. I started to get a major pain in my lower abdomen, In less than an hour I was bent over in pain. my mom and I stopped cleaning and went to the doctor to figure out what it was. The Dr. thought it was my appendix so we rushed off to the hospital, waited in the emergency room for four hours, and finally had a CT scan done. The scan said I had a 13lb. Tumor the size of a honeydew melon on my right ovary. Dr. Finklstein did the surgery and I went through the best chemo they had for four months and I was in remission till January of 2012.

I had gone to the hospital for pain in my right side and the hospital doctors thought the found a hematoma on my liver, starved me for four days, then sent me home. In February my side kept hurting and I went back to the hospital because I almost threw up blood. Dr. Finklstein saw that the hematoma wasn't really a hematoma it was a tumor that had grown to the size of a fist. It took 10 days for Dr. Finklstein to convince the liver doctor to operate, because of where the tumor was located and because ethe risk of the surgery was very high. In those ten days the tumor had grown to the size of a watermelon and was squishing all my internal organs; slowly killing me. It was very painful. The surgery was supposed to take 14 hours and it was very risky but it only took 3 hours and I recovered quickly. I went through a different chemo and was in remission until February of 2013.

My Inhibin A, which is a cancer marker, went from 1 to over 300. Dr. Finklstein sent me in for another CT scan. It showed I had two tumors on my liver and she was worried because she had exhausted all other options of chemo's on my last two diagnosis. So she referred me to MD Anderson to see what options they had. They put me on this really harsh chemo regimen to try and shrink my tumors. Taxil for 24 hours starting on Monday; Cysplatin along with Iifosfomide Tuesday through Friday and if I wasn't dehydrated I could go home Saturday. Due to the side effects, I was so sick during and after treatment that I had no quality of life. Dr. Finklstein realized that the chemo was killing me from the inside out and presented me with a few other options. My options were to try and convince the doctors at MD Anderson in Houston or Slone Kettering in New York to take my tumors out, a different chemo, or radiation. Because of where the tumors were located the doctors hesitated to operate, once again because of the risk. However, if surgery was the possibility to keeping me alive then I was all in. Slone Kettering took on my case Dec 4th 2013. Was in remission till February of 2014. now that I have exhausted all my options, I am now starting to fly back and forth to Maryland to start clinical trials. My diagnosis is terminal but I'm determined to fight to stay alive and have as much quality of life as I can.

In the meantime, I plan to get married within the next year and although the venue I fell in love with costs $5,000, I believe that instead of spending all that money on the venue alone, I could plan my entire wedding with that money. My goal is to raise $5,000 extra dollars to plan and put my wedding together. Anything beyond The $5,000 for my trip to Houston, gas and dr. appointments would be for the wedding of my dreams. I would appreciate all the help I could get. I want to thank you for your time and support. I love and thank you all for your support.
