Shelia Cato Recovery Fund

On February 25, 2017 a beloved member of our community, Ms. Shelia Cato, suffered from a debilitating stroke. This sudden ailment abruptly interfered with her normal roles as a mother, sister, friend, teacher, adviser and mentor. Ms. Cato has been out of work for five weeks and will continue to be out of work as she works to regain full mobility and speech. Currently she does not have enough days to compensate her during her time off, so unfortunately, she is going without regular pay. In an effort to to alleviate and offset some of the burdens associated with being ill, we are turning to the community, former and current students, co-workers, friends, family members, and anyone else who is in a position to be a blessing. The money raised through this Go Fund Me Account will assist with medical and therapy bills, household utilities, groceries, and various other expenses. Everyone who knows Ms. Cato knows that she is a hard working dedicated teacher who has made a difference in the life of many. Many of you have experiences her love and spirit as students, as members of locally notorious non-profit Umoja-Ujima Step Team and Service Organization, or as members of her mentoring group Ladies First. Ms. Cato has literally made it her life's work to go to bat for & support every student, friend and family member she has, despite what rejection they or the world may present. This is our chance to help a woman who never runs away from a chance to help others. Please, if there's anything you can contribute to assist her, be a blessing. Please share and post to your pages. Thanking you in Advance, Kharisma Cato
