<div>Op een woensdagnacht in 2018 werd ik wakker en liep naar de keuken om wat te drinken te halen. Het volgende dat ik weet is dat ik wakker werd op de grond, in een plas bloed en met enorme hoofdpijn.

<div>Ik belde mijn broer, die mij naar het ziekenhuis bracht. Daar vertelden ze dat ik was flauwgevallen en een hersenschudding had.

<div>We dachten dat het daarmee klaar was.

<div>Maar ik bleef cognitieve- en vermoeidheidsklachten houden. Uiteindelijk na 16 maanden kreeg ik een MRI scan en toen bleek dat de botjes achter mijn ogen gebroken waren. Mijn neus is ook gebroken.

<div><strong>Post Commotioneel Syndroom </strong>
</div>
<div>In 2019 kwam ik in aanraking met een revalidatiearts die de diagnose Post Commotioneel Syndroom heeft gesteld. Het Post Commotioneel Syndroom houdt in dat de klachten van een hersenschudding langdurig aanhouden. Mijn klachten zijn: hoofdpijn, vermoeidheid, slapeloosheid, concentratieproblemen en overprikkeling.

<div><strong>Dagelijks leven </strong>
</div>
<div>In het dagelijks leven kan ik niet meer doen wat ik vroeger deed. Zoals het volgen van opleidingen, maatschappelijk actief zijn en me zelfstandig redden op alle levensgebieden.

<div>Ook deed ik sport, zoals marathons lopen en tenniswedstrijden. Ik kon vrijwilligerswerk doen. Ik zou deze activiteiten graag weer deels oppakken.
</div>

<div><strong>Autisme</strong>
</div>
<div>Als kind ben ik gediagnosticeerd met autisme. Daarom heb ik het niet altijd makkelijk gehad tijdens mijn opleiding en werk. Het verwerken van informatie kost mij meer moeite. Na de val op mijn hoofd is mijn leven nog beperkter geworden.

<div><strong>Behandeling</strong>
</div>
<div>Gek genoeg kreeg ik hier geen behandeling voor. Uiteindelijk heb ik zelf een reis naar Amerika gemaakt om daar behandeling te krijgen. Ik ben doorverwezen naar een neuro optometrist en kreeg oefeningen om de klachten te verminderen. De gebroken botjes achter mijn ogen blijven echter voor problemen zorgen. Daarom ben ik aan het crowdfunden voor een HERSTEL OPERATIE.

<div>De verzekering vergoed de hersteloperatie niet. Ik wil graag mijn zelfstandige leven voortzetten, maar ik loop vast. Tot nu toe heb ik altijd mijn behandelingen zelf betaald. Deze operatie heb ik nodig om weer verder te kunnen gaan met mijn leven. Ik heb nog nooit om hulp gevraagd, maar hierbij vraag ik:

<div>On a Wednesday night in 2018, I woke up and went to the kitchen to get a drink. The next thing I know is that I woke up on the floor in a pool of blood, with a severe headache.

<div>I called my brother, who immediately took me to the hospital. The hospital staff told me I had fainted and suffered from a concussion.
</div>

<div>We thought that was it.
</div>

<div>However, I kept having cognitive and headache issues. Finally, after 16 months, I got an MRI, and it showed that the bones behind my eyes, ethmoid, were broken. I had also fractured my nose.
</div>

<div><strong>Post-Concussion Syndrome </strong>
</div>
<div>I was diagnosed with Post-Concussion Syndrome in 2019 by a rehabilitation doctor. My symptoms include headaches, fatigue, insomnia, lack of concentration and sensory overload. Post-Concussion Syndrome is the persistence of these symptoms for a long time after injury.

<div><strong>Daily life</strong>
</div>
<div>In my daily life, I feel like a zombie. The daily activities I used to do, such as taking study courses and functioning independently, I can’t do anymore. I also used to do sport activities such as running marathons and playing tennis matches. I was able to do volunteer work. I would like to resume those activities partially.

<div><strong>Autism</strong>
</div>
<div>Because I was diagnosed with autism as a child, life hasn’t always been easy during my education and work. Processing information takes more effort for me. After the fall on my head, my life has become even more limited.

<div><strong>Treatment</strong>
</div>
<div>Weirdly enough, I didn't receive treatment for this. Eventually, I took a trip to America to get treatment. I have been referred to a neuro optometrist and given exercises to reduce the symptoms. Still, the broken bones behind my eyes continue to cause problems.

<div>That is why I am crowdfunding for a RECOVERY OPERATION. This operation will fix the broken bones behind my eyes and strengthen my crooked nose.
