Life's A Beach!

Hola Amigos!
As you may or may not know, I am working for the third time with a group of abandoned kids here in Quito, Ecuador that I met last summer in a private orphanage that was feeding them expired food, not making them go to school, depending on volunteers to do the cleaning, and I heard rumors that the director was exploiting the older girls if you know what I mean. It was a very sad situation, and when the government found out they came and picked up the kids in white government vans and redistributed the kids to government run foundations. I was lucky enough to convince the government workers that I should go with them to help with the transition since nobody from the previous orphanage was allowed to have contact with them. I was able to spend two weeks with them in their new home before I have to return to the U.S. last August. The kids seemed terribly unhappy, as they should be, being taken out of the only place they knew as home no matter how bad it was.
Afte returning home, I spent a lot of time thinking about the kids, crying in my car sometimes when I thought about them, and I didn't feel right about not seeing them again and making sure they were ok. I was able to return in November during my Thanksgiving break to check on them and was so happy to see that they seemed to have adjusted well and that they were being much better taken care of by the staff at this new place! During my week there at Thanksgiving I made friends with the psychologist, Don Willian, and I agreed to come back this summer so we could take these precious children on their first trip to the beach ever!
Well, Lori didn't realize that a trip to the beach for 26 kids + 10 workers x 4 days= $1800.00. I guess since this is a fundraising website, and I just told you a sad story, you are probably smart enough to figure out where this is going.
Here is the deal. Most of the children have only seen the ocean in pictures or in movies, and without some financial help, they probably never will. These kids come from horror stories in their own families, and I personally think they deserve a few fun, carefree days at the beach after all they have been through and all they will continue to go through being kids of parents who have passed away, kids of parents who are in jail, and some kids of parents that just can't afford them and had to turn them over to the government.
I would greatly appreciate any bit of help you can provide to pay for transportation ($840) and food ($960) so that we can go to the beach from July 21st - July 24th, 2013. Luckily, we have worked out a free place for the kids to stay!
The money will never touch the hands of anyone but me. I will pay the bus driver directly as well as the food at each meal, so you don't have to worry about the money falling into the wrong hands.
If you are still with me at this point, thanks for reading! I realize that not everyone has the means to give, and that is fine. Prayers/positive thoughts for these kids would be appreciated just as much!
