My name is Maddie Adams, I am 17 years old and I am from Mansfield Connecticut. I am so thrilled and grateful to have been accepted into A Capella Academy, a 10-day vocal A Capella camp held in Los Angeles. Only the top 13% of students are admitted, so I was completely humbled to have been selected to work alongside less than 100 kids equally as passionate about music as I am!
From what I can remember, I have always been involved in music. At an early age I attended summer musical/acting programs and once I went to middle school I started singing in a choir. Ever since fifth grade, music has been such a healthy outlet for me and my outgoing charisma. I love making music with my choir because there is something so beautiful and unique about sharing similar passions with others. I plan to study Music Education at Western Connecticut University in the fall of 2020, and I am so excited to continue growing and learning as a young musician!
I decided to audition for A Capella Academy because I love taking on new challenges and experiences. After watching just a few videos about the camp, I was so eager to audition. I thought, what was there to lose? I was shocked as to what this camp has to offer in just 10 days, and again, am so thrilled to have been accepted.
Tuition in all comes to $1,995 (not including airfare to and from LA from Boston). My goal for the next few months is to raise enough money where I do not have to put any financial strain on my family. I work two jobs and have been working on meeting my own personal goals, but anything will help!
