From the first time I went on a missions trip at the age of 18, I knew missions would always be a part of my life. Over the past several months, I have felt a deep and undeniable stirring from the Lord. At the time I was very unsure of what God was going to do, but I knew it was big and it was going to be a major step of faith. As I have been seeking Him for my life and His desires for me the consistent theme has been ministry and missions.
As time progressed He began to slowly reveal where He is leading me. He has faithfully removed all barriers, silenced fears and insecurities, and demised all doubt. Long story short, He is calling me to quit my job and go to Queenstown, New Zealand for Discipleship Training School with YWAM (Youth with a Mission).
The school lasts a total of 6 months. The first half is spent in New Zealand being discipled, doing coursework and training, and just digging deeper in my relationship with Jesus. The second half of the journey will be our “Outreach Phase” in a country and location to be determined by the team once we arrive in New Zealand. We will spend that time applying the principles and skills we have learned, reaching the lost with the gospel of Jesus Christ, and showing God’s love to everyone we encounter (John 13:35).
God has already blessed me with a wonderful life, family and friends, minsitry, church, and support system. I could not be more grateful for His faithful provision and grace toward me.
Something that a spiritual mentor said that catapaulted this huge step of faith for me is that “sometimes the biggest enemy of ‘great’ is ‘good’”. My life is good! However, I believe God is stirring and calling me to step out in faith, moving against the grain, because He has something GREAT in store for me.
