Team Ryleigh #MicroPreemieStrong

Hello everyone! My name is Christine and I am creating this GoFund Me for my brother Dug and his wife Jess as they are going through every parent’s worst fear.

My sister in law, Jess, was having a normal twin pregnancy up until Christmas Day when she was experiencing some light spotting. She checked into Chester County Hospital where doctors discovered she was experiencing preterm labor and that baby A (Ryleigh) was much lower than they would like to see for her gestational age. Jess was quickly transferred by helicopter to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where doctors would have the resources to try to care for her extremely young babies. The doctors did everything they could to extend Jess’ pregnancy including giving her high doses of Magnesium and 2 corticosteroid injections 24 hours apart to improve her babies chances of doing well and help their lung development. On Monday, December 28th, the doctors decided to proceed with a controlled delivery for their daughter Ryleigh. Ryleigh was born at 1:54 pm, 15.7 ounces, 11 inches at 23 weeks. Ryleigh is currently fighting in the NICU at HUP. She is such a fierce little fighter!

Reagan was delivered on Tuesday, December 29th at 8:07am, but unfortunately died in utero. It was a tragic and heartbreaking moment.

Due to only one income (Jess will not be returning to her school counselor role this year), the constant running back and forth to the hospital, medical bills, and funeral expenses, they will be low on finances for the next few months. Right now, they are in a really tough position and need all the help they can get. We know this is a trying time for everyone, and any donation is greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!
