I am currently volunteering for this organization that does really good work. I am happy to do this work but need to pay for babysitting while I volunteer. Here's a quick description of what we do there. So I am asking for donations that will enable me to keep doing this work. Thanks.
Juvenile Restorative Justice is an all volunteer organization who aim to foster accountability, dialogue and healing with juveniles and their families. The young people with whom we work have all gotten into some trouble either at school or with the law. We work extensively with these families to find solutions and resources that will actually work to solve some of the problems. As volunteers who come from outside of the system we are able to think outside the box, and come up with creative solutions that are tailored to an individual family's needs. We work to build individual relationships with the Juvenile, we go to court with them, we offer parenting groups, circles for young people, facilitate mediations between family members, connect families to resources and follow up to make sure everything is working well. We facilitate true healing.
The family court judges, the prosecuting attorneys,the Court Designated Workers and school personnel all refer cases to us and trust us to make a real difference in these family's lives.
This page is an attempt to raise some money for office supplies, the rent for our office, supplies for our groups and to be able to pay a small stipend so that our work can continue and become sustainable, so that we can continue to help families in Lexington.
