Hurricane Florence - Tree Removal

Donation protected
As we prepare to return home to Wilmington following hurricane Florence, many people have asked if there's anything they can do to help.

A high priority will be removing a number of the trees that surround our home.  While I'm sorry to see them go, they are a proven hazard. The first tree came down in hurricane Matthew splitting the home in half. It was entirely rehabilitated and after moving in just twelve days ago, sadly, another tree came through the roof in hurricane Florence where it still sits, on and inside the home.

Therefore, they must go. I estimate there are 7-8 trees between 80-110' tall that need to come down. If you are indeed interested in helping out while we put things back together over the next several months, this would be a great way to do so. The anticipated cost of removal is a minimum $5,000. This will be an out of pocket cost not covered by home owners insurance. My hope is to begin removal ASAP, before the next storm arrives.

As we are still evacuated and unable to return home. I've included the few pictures made available courtesy of our neighbor. The damage you see is the very least of it, with both rooms on the other side of the kitchen completely destroyed.

Thank you for your consideration.
