Scarlett Takes A Stand Against SIDS

Scarlett is an eight year old little girl. She is like a lot of other eight year old girls. She loves her friends, loves dance, tumbling and softball. She has an outgoing personality and is always up to trying new things. She is also like a lot of other little girls when she says that she loves her family and her brothers and sisters more than anything. Scarlett has lost a little sister, Tess Alexandra and a little brother, Jones Gray to SIDS in the last three years. She has had a lemonade stand, bake sale and just gone door to door raising money for SIDS research. She wants to help raise money to help researchers find out why babies go to sleep and never wake up. She wants to change the world, with her compassion and determination and wants to keep Tess and Jonesy's memory alive while she tries to help others. Scarlett's wish, is for sometime in her lifetime, they will find a cure for SIDS. She prays that one day, big sisters won't have to lose little sisters and little brothers to this silent killer. Scarlett's sister and brother have been given an amazing opportunity when they were asked to be part of a research program. This program is ran by the renowned pathologist and SIDS researcher Dr. Hannah Kinney from the Children's Hospital Boston. She is also a professor of pathology at the Harvard School of Medicine. Scarlett's siblings and their whole genetic family tree will be studied by experts in genetics, pediatrics, metabolics, pathology and more. This is a such a huge opportunity to look further into the deaths of Tess and Jones, but also to leave their legacy in this SIDS research. The Sudden Unexplained Death in Pediatrics program is funded by donations. This is why Scarlett is hoping with all she has that you will help her reach this goal.
