know it will touch your hearts:..then please sponsor me to complete the Melbourne Marathon Festival Half Marathon, Sunday 13 Oct. 2013...and thus support the ongoing education of Subira and all of the girls at SEGA in Tanzania.
Subira is one of my very dear friends at SEGA. She actually did lose her home to during torrential flooding and had to use all her available resources and inner strength to relocate her very sick Mum, daughter and extended family to ensure they were safe. For many years she has had to manage this group of important people in her life. She is now in Form 4, (Year 10) and studying furiously to undertake the almost overwhelming task of passing her Secondary School National exams in November. All 150 girls at SEGA have a similar story of hardship and now a second chance at education however, they carry the enormous burden of not just saving themselves from poverty, but their immediate and extended families as well. This pressure is enormous but, like Subira, they are so grateful to have this chance.
We, here in Australia, can make a difference and contribute to supporting SEGA girls in continuing their education.
