Hello! My name is Sophie Tompsett and I’m fundraising for my trip to South Africa in August 2025, where I will be volunteering as an English teacher in local, disadvantaged schools.

I am striving to make a difference in local communities by teaching English, coaching sports and generally working alongside disadvantaged preschool children while exploring breathtaking landscapes, experiencing local culture and creating lasting memories.

As soon as I left teacher training at university, volunteering abroad had been high on my priority list. I feel so privileged to be working at an amazing school with such a great community and I can’t wait to share my everyday with others who are not as lucky as some of us.
